Thanksgiving is a time for indulgence.  Lots of food, lots of family and lots of friends.
Rich heavy foods like meat and beans as well as alcohol have been linked to gout.  Gout happens when uric acid builds up in your system and gets deposited in crystal form in your joints.
Red, swollen tender joints are typical of gout flare ups. After you sit down for your holiday dinner and indulge, if you experience these symptoms call us asap!

There are many treatments to get you better quickly.

Fresh Cherry juice, lots of water, Ice and Immobilization as well as steroid injections and anti inflammatory medications can be a quick fix.
If gout has become a chronic issue for you, there are medications that can be taken daily to prevent these flare ups. Gout is a severely painful and debilitating condition.  You don't have to suffer.  Happy Thanksgiving!
